Prometido desde 2011, o projeto foi reformulado pela gest\u00e3o Ricardo Nunes e tem custo atual de R$ 1 bilh\u00e3o s\u00f3 para a obra, valor que deve ser dividido com o governo do Estado. Al\u00e9m da expectativa de reduzir o tempo de viagem, a ideia \u00e9 permitir a conex\u00e3o com outros modais, como o metr\u00f4 e o tr\u00f3lebus. <br><br>O an\u00fancio est\u00e1 previsto para o in\u00edcio de novembro. Na compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a proposta apresentada em 2014, a atual prev\u00ea altera\u00e7\u00f5es significativas, como um t\u00fanel menor, de 200 metros, na chegada ao metr\u00f4 Parque Dom Pedro II (a vers\u00e3o anterior previa um desn\u00edvel de 650 m), uma esta\u00e7\u00e3o a menos (s\u00e3o 12 agora) e ciclovia ao longo do eixo central. <br><br>Ser\u00e3o tr\u00eas trechos no total, com extens\u00e3o de 26,1 quil\u00f4metros espalhados pela Avenida Alc\u00e2ntara Machado, a Radial Leste, desde o Terminal S\u00e3o Mateus at\u00e9 o centro, nas proximidades do Mercado Municipal.
