O relat\u00f3rio faz uma an\u00e1lise dos indicadores do Sistema Nacional de Informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre Saneamento (SNIS), ano de 2021, publicado pelo Minist\u00e9rio das Cidades. Desde 2009, o Trata Brasil monitora os indicadores dos maiores munic\u00edpios brasileiros com base na popula\u00e7\u00e3o, com o objetivo de dar luz a um problema hist\u00f3rico vivido no pa\u00eds.<br><br>\u201cNesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Ranking, \u00e9 observado que al\u00e9m da necessidade de os munic\u00edpios alcan\u00e7arem o acesso pleno do acesso \u00e0 \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel e atendimento de coleta de esgoto, o tratamento dos esgotos \u00e9 o indicador que est\u00e1 mais distante da universaliza\u00e7\u00e3o nas cidades, mostrando-se o principal gargalo a ser superado\u201d
